Aperture Science is a scientific research company founded by the visionary entrepreneur Cave Johnson. Originially beginning as a manufacturer of shower curtains, using his newly acculumated funds, Cave Johnson invested in real estate and purchased a vast decommisioned salt mine in Michigan. Eventually, Aperture Science Innovators was incorporated in 1947.
